Zimbabwe committed to test cricket – ZC

Zimbabwe has not lost its test status and remains committed to the elite format of the game.

That is what Zimbabwe Cricket has come out and said after  the Chevrons were left out of the latest rankings.

The reason they have been excluded is not because of the loss of the status but because of the inactivity in the time period under consideration.

The Chevrons sit on 12 points and when they take on New Zealand in two tests in Harare later this season these points will immediately become active.

In a statement ZC added:

We will also be involved in Test cricket against Sri Lanka later this year, while we are continuously engaging other boards in our efforts to secure more bilateral series, including Tests, for Zimbabwe.

Our commitment to Test cricket remains unquestionable and as strong as ever.

Meanwhile Zimbabwe meet India in a series limited over matches in June at the Harare Sports Club in the capital.
