Zifa back to old ways as Young Warriors preps in shambles

It looks as if the Dr Philip Chiyangwa executive has a real fight on its hand after the drama around the Young Warriors camp on Friday.

According to ZBC, the boys who will meet Cameroon in the Under 20 Orange Cup of Nations qualifier at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday have no idea where they will sleep tonight (Friday).

Here are some of the dramatic updates:

  • The Young Warriors were kicked out of their Greendale Lodge and when they got to the ZIFA  village, there were no beds. Debbtors had taken those.
  • The bus donated to them this afternoon because it was being used by the visitors for a training session.
  • The training session venue had to be paid for by a well-wisher

The debt is longstanding and the association has been surviving on well-wishers, most notably  the flamboyant Wicknell Chivayo.

Meanwhile Zifa has revealed the gate charges for the matches.  Gate charges are $1 for the rest of the ground, $ 3 for bay 15-18 and $5 for VIP stand.
