Some pretty damaging news coming in.
FIFA has said that South Africa paid a $10 million bribe to host the 2010 World Cup.
This revolves a payment that was made to the the Diaspora Legacy Programme, to be “administered and implemented directly” by the disgraced Jack Warner, president of Concacaf.
South Africa has denied this but Fifa apparently thinks that the 2010 World Cup was bought with payment in exchange for at least three votes, Warner, Chuck Blazer and a third executive committee member.
This is the first time that Fifa has openly backed suspicions made by US investigators.
It is a bad period for South African football with recent suspensions and allegations of match-fixing.
