Grace Mugabe granted diplomatic immunity, returns home

Zimbabwe first lady Dr Grace Mugabe will not face prosecution over an alleged assault of South African national Gabriella Engells after that country granted her diplomatic immunity.

A government gazette signed by the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Maite Nkoane-Mashabane made the notification saying it had been granted ‘in terms of international law’.

Meanwhile the state broadcaster ZBC confirmed that the first lady had returned to Zimbabwe with her husband to Zimbabwe. President Robert Mugabe had gone to South Africa for the Southern African Development Community summit held this week.
