Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh has conceded defeat and opposition candidate Adama Barrow has been declared winner of Gambia’s presidential election.
Barrow led with 263,515 votes, while Jammeh got 212,099 and Mamma Kandeh got 102,969 votes, the chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission Alieu Momarr Njai declared on Friday.
The president-elect rose from working as a security guard while studying in London rose to topple Jammeh who won 4 elections in a row since taking over the small African country via a military coup
