MUSIC VIDEO REVIEW: Jah Prayzah ft Feli Nandi – Sarungano

It’s Django Unchained meets 12 Years A Slave, that could easily have become Portiphar’ wife.

Umsebenzi kaBlaqs is back to collaborate with his longtime co-conspirator Jah Prayzah, on a song produced by another member of the gang, DJ Tamuka with Rodney Beatz.

And they have the super-talented Feli Nandi on the song as well.

The track is called Sarungano.

First, the song is an easy listen, performed by two artists who are very masterfully oriented in their craft. What we like is their voices are introduced early on, so they both get to breathe in the song.

To the video. It is the of Blaqs as a skilled storyteller, able to put veritable spine on a tale which often is not paced well for a video that four minutes and 41 seconds.

The makeup artist does well to create a periodic feel to the faces of the actors, particularly slave owners.

The white lady is as entitled as you should expect as she prances about in an almost balletic manner, even as she points out.

She is the lady, and she decides.

Something out of Blaqs brings depth out Jah Prayzah’s video performances.
