Zimbabwean football team appoints eight-year-old as Assistant Manager

In a bit of an odd move, Zimbabwean football side FC Wangu Mazodze appears to have appointed an eight-year-old as its an assistant team manager.

In a Facebook post the club said, “We are happy to inform you that Special Prince, Richardell Wangu Mazodze has been appointed to be Assistant Team Manager of the club.”

The club is owned by Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) aspirant Richard Wangu Mazodze.

What any of this means because it may have implications on labour laws and the sort.

The certainty is that it is seen as a bit strange but not out character with some of the weird things in the Zimbabwe football space.

But the eight-year-old situation does go beyond ‘a bit odd’ as we said at the beginning.
