The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched a manhunt for three suspected drug lords allegedly operating sophisticated drug syndicates in several suburbs of Harare.
Authorities are seeking information that could lead to the location and arrest of Nomore ‘Nomara’ Chabata (47), Joymore Chihwai (41), and Leon Mambohaatumwi (35). According to police reports, the three are classified as highly wanted individuals.
The suspects are said to have been operating drug bases in Mufakose, Marimba, and Mabvuku suburbs. Initial police investigations have revealed that the syndicate used heavily fortified properties to evade law enforcement. The houses reportedly feature very high durawalls, electric fences, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras for surveillance.
In addition, police sources indicate that the premises were guarded by vicious dogs, including pit bulls, intended to deter raids and arrests by authorities.
Of grave concern to investigators is the discovery of explosives among the contraband seized. This has led police to believe the drug lords may also be linked to more serious crimes, including armed robbery involving the blowing up of safes.
The ZRP has stated that further detailed information will be released in due course and has appealed to members of the public with useful information to come forward.
The public is urged to continue providing information on National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or WhatsApp on 0712 800 197 or report at any nearest Police Station.
