Zimbabwe captain Graeme Cremer pulled off a spectacular delivery just before the end of play to remove Kraigg Brathwaitte late in the day on day two of the second test against the Windies at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
The Windies looked to be untroubled at most and coasting along until Cremer produced one that did Braithwaitte in the air and Hamilton Masakadza was happy to collect.
Nightwatchmen Davendra Bishoo then joined Kieran Powell on 43 and the spinner suffered a few scares. At the close of play Windies were 78/1 still 248 runs off Zimbabwe’s first innings score.
That score was largely due to the efforts of Masakadza who went on to make 147 and Sikandar Raza with 80 lifting the hosts to 326 all out.
The Windies will feel they have a slight advantage but with the ball gripping the surface as it is and debutant Tendai Chisoro looking good it makes for an interesting morning on day 3.
Play resumes at 9.30am.
