Bishoo five-for undoes Zimbabwe

Devendra Bishoo was good for his five wicket haul but Zimbabwe pulled a shocking display as they were bowled out for 159 at tea on Day 2 of the first test against the Windies on Sunday.

Debutant Solomon Mire was out early on for 27 trying to play aggressively and leaving Zimbabwe on 44/1. His effort had elevation but not enough distance and Kraigg Brathwaite was happy was happy to oblige off the bowling of Kemar Roache.

Craig Ervine joined Hamilton Masakadza the latter top scoring with 42 and the former making 39.

And that was the tale of the Zimbabwe innings. A couple of starts that never got going and shots made that were poor off ordinary balls.

Sikandar Raza (6) had no business making a big shot especially knowing that he was the last specialist batsman left on the card. Sean Williams(7) went fishing for a bad delivery off Roach. Malcom Waller (11) sat deep in his crease and allowed one to send his middle stump to sleep. Regis Chakabva(12) stuck his bat out and a Bishoo delivery popped up on him.

As for the return of Brendan Taylor. It was nine minutes, seven deliveries and the one run.

A special mention for Chris Mpofu who made 10 with every run, block swing met with applause by the crowd. He showed a lot of intent, played positively something a lot of those higher up the order lacked.
