Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) is continuing with its restructuring exercise to enhance the performance of the national team.
A competitive team will maximise revenue generation as it will attract more sponsorship, more tours and so television receipts, and more gate takings through increased match attendances.
The exercise has now led to a review of the ZC executive structure, leading to the setting up of three distinct units which will be led by directors who will carry out the main functions of the organisation under the direction and supervision of chief executive officer Wilfred Mukondiwa.
The departments are: Finance and Administration which is under Mrs Esther Chagadama-Lupepe, International and Domestic (First Class) Cricket and Commercial Affairs under former Zimbabwe captain Alistair Campbell, and Development and Club Cricket under Givemore Makoni, who has been promoted from his post of Mountaineers franchise administrator.
Makoni is one of the longest-serving ZC employees. He was involved with grassroots cricket especially at Takashinga Cricket Club in Highfield, Harare, before joining ZC on a full-time basis and serving at various times as a provincial administrator, national team manager, convener of selectors and franchise executive.
