Former ANCYL leader Julius Malema’s partially-built house will go under the hammer on Thursday.
Apparently over 30 people have shown interest in the Sandton house which he bought for R3.6 million in 2009. The auction is part of the efforts by the Revenue Authority to get the R16 million it is owed by Malema.
Those wishing to bid have to register with Bidders’ Choice. There is a commitment fee of R100,000 refundable after auction. between R2.5 and R3 million is expected to be raised for the half-built house.
Meanwhile, the Limpopo department of human settlements will re-advertise all tenders awarded to Malema and anyone connected to him. The department says it was acting under advisement and not as a direct order.
Tough times for Malema. At this rate someone is going to have to offer him a couch to sleep on.
