Court orders mental examination for abduction-accused kombi driver

The magistrate’s court in Harare has ordered a mental examination for a kombi driver accused of attempting to kidnap 25 children from David Livingstone Primary School in Harare.

Samuel Honde, 60, appeared in court this weekend and will undergo the examine the state of his mind.

This was after he was showing signs of confusion when arrested.

Honde had been a regular driver for children from the school for years. He however last week picked up the children and was found 103km on Harare-Mutare.

The driver has been remanded in custody until 2 February 2024.
