Raza credits Zimbabwe winning culture emphasis for last-ball heroics

Zimbabwe cricket star Sikandar Raza has credited the culture in his home side for his heroics as his Punjab Kings side pulled off a super-dramatic win over the Chennai Super Kings in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Sunday.

Said Raza after the match, “Coming from the Zimbabwe culture, we put more emphasis on winning rather than individual performances. I don’t know what the discussion was before the last ball. Just am lot of arms waving in the dugout. That over when Livi took charge was the momentum shift. Jitesh has been striking so well all all IPL. The way he batted today was great. I was trying to get bat on ball and run as hard as I can.”

Fans of Zimbabwe will be enthralled by this. They certainly have seen a lot of this in the recent moths as their side has shown grit and resolve, a collective attitude towards winning.

With the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier opening on 18 June, the fans will feel involved, with the feeling that he winning feeling is what matters.

The man just won the Pakistan Super League title. So, yeah. there is hope.
