Mourinho ‘has left’ Manchester United

Manchester United have announced the departure of manager Jose Mourinho.

In a statement it said:


Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect.

The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.

A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.

Mourinho has had a typically terrible third season. The English giants languish in sixth a full 19 points behind league leaders Liverpool to whom Mourinho lost 3-1 to in a statement of the gulf in class between the two sides.

It is exactly three years to day he was relieved of his duties at Chelsea Football Club. That was on the 17th of December 2015. This happened on the 18th of December.

Michael Carrick will be the interim manager until a temporary manager is appointed within the next 48 hours.
