FC Platinum-Caps United match abandoned after crowd trouble

The Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match between FC Platinum and Caps United has been abandoned in the 88th minute after club trouble.

FC Platinum were leading 1-0 through a first-half goal from Juan Mutudza goal going deep into the match.

Caps United thought they had an equaliser thanks to Ralph Kawondera, but it was chalked off as offside by the officials.

A pitch invasion took place, and while the police cleared it and players were ready to continue, the match officials declined to continue, according to Caps United.

They posted as much on their X account:

Match officially called off. Police details declared the pitch safe to play but still, match officials refused.
At 88″ 1-0
Kawondera’s goal disallowed
