How to date towards a good relationship

A good relationship almost feels accidental for many people out there.

And so it kinda feels sometimes like a move from a random hookup into a marriage and the reckless nature is often celebrated.

In this age, it becomes hard as we evolve to get into a real relationship, a long term, good relationship.

Here are a few steps.

  1. Be clear about what you want: The key thing is to be clear from upfront after a few dates. You don’t have to say, ‘can you be my wife?’ but be blunt about what you want. Be ready to not get it. Ask if you have a shot. But if she is coming out of some situation, forget about it. Walk away.
  2. Go on an actual date: When you hang out, don’t minimise what it is. Tell her, you are going on a date. She must get that it is a romantic interest situation.
  3. It can go wrong and that is fine: After a few dates in which you have emotionally invested, it is possible to find out that she doesn’t like you and you don’t like her. That is fine. Neither of you are bad people. You just want different things. The key thing is not to take the first thing that comes along because you are ready for a good relationship.
  4. Trust your instincts: Hang out in places that have the opportunity for light touching. When you put a hand on her, does she take it away? When sit closer, does she move away? Maybe she is hot and cold on texts. Maybe she was talkative before and then suddenly went quiet. Be ruthless about it but don’t be an ass. Cut your losses and keep it moving.
  5. It shouldn’t be work: If you have to convince someone that they should be with you, then it can’t be healthy. She says you are not the one but you hustle? Nah fam.
  6. Be real: The first one might not work. The second one might not work. So be prepared to go on a bunch of disappointing dates until you get the person.

Good luck
