Zambia Ruling Party Clinches Presidency

Zambia ruling part PF has retained the presidency of the country, results issued by the Electoral Commission of Zambia have confirmed.

Edgar Chagwa Lungu becomes the sixth president of the republic following the unfortunate death of Michael Sata in 2014.

This follows a closely fought by-election with oppposition candidate Hakainde Hichilema. It however was one of the lowest election turnouts of that country.

The inauguration is on tomorrow, Sunday 25 January 2015.

Sadc chairman and Zimbabwe head of state Robert Mugabe is there.

Lungu has his work cut out before elections at the end of 2016 when Sata’s term was meant to end.
