Nathan Shamuyarira Dies

Former Zimbabwe cabinet Minister and Zanu-pf politburo member Nathan Shamuyarira has died.

The news was confirmed by a Facebook page linked to the party which said:

Former Zanu-PF Politburo member and ex-Cabinet minister Cde Nathan Shamuyarira has died.
He was 85. Cde Shamuyarira died at West End Clinic in Harare last night after having been admitted on and off.
We send our condolences to his family and the Party for this loss of an academic guru.

Prominent Zanu-pf spokesman Psychology Maziwisa expressed his condolences:

I am deeply saddened to learn of Cde Nathan Shamuyarira’s passing, and I extend my heartfelt sympathies as the nation mourns his loss and reflects on his life.

At this difficult time, I hold the Shamuyarira family in my thoughts and prayers.

Shamuyarira received condemnation for his comments praising the Gukurahundi but will receive recognition for his nationalist approach to serving his country.
