Zimbabwe announces increased loadshedding

For families already experiencing up to 10 hours without electricity supply, it is about to get worse.

The Zimbabwe Electricity Distribution and Transmission Company (Zetdc) has announced an ‘increased load curtailment’ which is fancy speak for loadshedding.

This is from 24 September 2022, with no estimated end date.

The reason?

“This is due to technical challenges at our Kariba and Hwange Power Stations as well as import constraints’, the Zetdc said.

The end date for whatever work is being done left open-ended is a mess.
