A Zimbabwean man has been shot dead in Cape Town, South Africa where he was working as a vendor.
39 year-old Farai Fambira had just set up stall when he was shot in a crossfire between security guards and robbers. The robbers had been trying to take down a cash-in-transit vehicle.
He had been selling DVDs, CDs and padlocks at the entrance of a mall.
Fambira (also known as Rasta) hid behind a dairy trucj when he heard gunshots but guards found him and thought he was a robber.
The guards shot him in spite of him saying he was not a robber. They apparently even stood over Fambira and kicked him.
Fambira had been working to provide for a wife and three kids back in Zimbabwe.
So sad for Rasta. A big loss for his family. Always sad to lose a fellow Zimbabwean.
