ZBC’s Thulani Miga dies in accident. Journalists share grief

This morning, Zimbabwe media was rocked by the death of ZBC entertainment and arts news reporter Thulani Miga.

The award-winning reporter was involved in a car accident 42 kilometres from the capital along the Harare-Nyamapanda highway.

He died on the spot along with two other people including the driver, according to ZBC.

Fellow journo Winston Antonio from Alpha Media said in speaking to 3-mob.com:

We lost a dedicated Cde in the media Industry. He was more than a brother to me. My last Assingment with him was when we went to Tsovani, Chiredzi he told me that he wanted to release an album and on the way he sang some of his songs which he said was to be featured on the album!!! May his soul rest in peace!!!

Workmate and legendary broadcaster Terrence Mapurisana said:

He had mastered the art of entertainment and cultural reporting. He was one of those reporters I give credit in as far as visual art reporting is concerned. I think his strength was drawn from the fact that he was an aspiring reggae musician as well who often told me that he was now ready to go into the studio and record. He also did the arts roundup for zbc tv news whilst I was away. What pains me most is that a day before he passed on he phoned me requesting for Barney Mupariwa contact for the Star Bright story which I guess was his last story. I will miss him on the Arts desk.

He is survived by his wife, Tendai Liwewe and three children, Ruvarashe (10), Mzwandile (5) and Thandika (4).
