The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is on the hunt for 10 suspects who robbed Lomagundi College on Tuesday.
The ‘unknown’ suspects are said to have pounced on the Chinhoyi-based private school at 20.30hrs. They attacked security guards and the deputy headmaster, cops say.
“The suspects broke into the finance office where they blew an empty cash safe before breaking into the Principal’s office where they stole undisclosed amount of cash,” the ZRP added.
“The suspects stole a pistol, laptops, cellphones and a Mazda Tribute vehicle which they used as a get-away car,” the police continued.
Schools across Zimbabwe opened this week.
The robbery comes at a time when this sort of crime has been on the increase in recent years.
Police have requested the public for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with such can provide it to their nearest police station.
