This Wednesday Alliance Francaise presents an interesting collaboration of hip hop and mbira.
For those who were at Shoko Festival you would have seen interesting and diverse collabos and this was one of them – Zimbabwean hip hop band the Monkey Nuts together mbira princess Hope Masike.
For those who know Hope’s songs, think of them hip-hop-ified. Thus, the show dubbed hip hop hope. You know the Monkey Nuts are dope right?
That is not all. Also billed to perform tonight are Comrade Fatso and Chabvondoka. It will be great to see the guys going at it again after the extended break they had taken.
It will be party night. And for the football boys, don’t worry. We are told the show, which starts at 7.30 will be done by 9.30 which gives you enough time to go home or the nearest watering hole to catch your team.
Tickets are $10 at the door.
