Revered historian Pathisa Nyathi has died

Revered published poet, playwright, historian and biographer Pathisa Nyathi has died.

Nyathi was admitted at a private hospital in Bulawayo on Friday morning with a recurring illness before his death on Saturday.

His family confirmed the news.

Among his achievements were

• Author of 75 books
• “GM” on Kukhulwa Kokuphela / Mthwakazi Artists & Writers Association
• Chairperson, Mpopoma The High School SDA
• Mentor at British Council Echoes of Young Voices
• Mentor at Zimbabwe Writers Union (ZIWU)
• Founder of Amagugu Heritage
• Columnist for the Sunday News, Umthunywa, The Sunday Mirror and Sky Host in Zimbabwe.

He was 73.
