The Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) has dramatically suspended its Director-General, Eltah Nengomasha, as she faces an impending disciplinary hearing set by the regulatory body.
SRC board chairman, Gerald Mlotshwa, confirmed the suspension in a terse statement late Thursday night, yet offered little insight into the circumstances surrounding the decision.
“Please take note that, pending the finalisation of a Hearing, the Director-General of the SRC has been suspended,” the statement declared with brevity.
Sebastian Garikai has been appointed to step into the role of Acting Director-General, tasked with steering the commission through this unexpected transition until further notice.
