The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested Rameck Chidinhika (53) and his three daughters, Constancia Chidinhika (28), Vimbai Chidinhika (19), and a 15-year-old juvenile, for the brutal murder of Rameck’s father, Tizirai Chidinhika (77), and his mother, Miriam Polisiri (92).
The killings took place at Chorupanga Village in Nyajena, Masvingo, in October 2024.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at around 07:00 hours. The motive behind the gruesome crime is believed to be accusations of witchcraft, with the suspects alleging that the elderly couple had cast misfortune on Rameck Chidinhika’s family.
The ZRP has confirmed that investigations are underway. The case has sparked widespread concern in the region, with community members expressing their shock and disbelief at the violent nature of the crime.
In a separate incident, police are also appealing for assistance in solving another murder case in Chiredzi. Jabson Bunukwa Kwangwari (35) was found dead on 11th October 2024 at 1 Runhare, Chiridzi, in an advanced state of decomposition. The victim had deep cuts on his head and arm, and a blood-stained axe was recovered from the scene.
