A Harare woman has been raped after she met a person she connected with on an online dating site,
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the disturbing incident.
“The ZRP urges the public not to engage in online dating with strangers,” cops posted on X.
“This follows an incident which occurred on 22/06/24 in which a female adult (28) from Dzivarasekwa Extension, Harare, was lured to a lodge in Mabelreign by a male suspect.
“The suspect raped the victim before dumping her near Madokero Service Station,” the ZRP concluded.
Dating such sites as Tinder and Badoo have become popular in Zimbabwe.
Clearly, they come with their dangers.
