Zimbabwean driver Conrad Rautenbach put on a strong performance in Stage 5 of the Dakar Rally.
He came third in the Side By Side behind Cyril Despres and Aaron Domzala.
This puts Rautenbach at 7th in the overall standings.
It should be noted that Despres who retired a couple of days ago can continue racing under the Dakar Experience but will not feature in the general standings. So he can win a stage but can’t win the Dakar itself.
