City of Harare warns over unsafe meat

The City of Harare has pushed out a notice over what it terms unsafe meat in the capital.

The meat it says is ‘uninspected, unhygienic and adulterated’ (some stuff added in it to make it dodgy).

While advising the public to by from licensed butcheries only, it also says owners of these establishments are to buy mear from registered abattoirs and to desist from such practices (the whole adulterated, unhygienic and uninspected stuff).

In essence, this kinda leaves us unsure as to how to tell whether that meat is bad or not until we have the runs and what not.

The City Health Department says it has intensified monitoring of the sale of meat in Harare along with the Zimbabwe Republic Police in the interest of public health.

If you do come across dodgy meat, however, contact City of Harare Health Department Environmental Health Division, on 0242774141/2 or 0242753330-3
