Zimbabwe through to CHAN finals

Zimbabwe played out a goalless draw in Maseru against Lesotho to make it to the CHAN finals set Cameroon next year.

Reports from Lesotho say the Warriors put on a largely uninspired performance as they seemed content to keep the bird in hand, a 3-1 lead from the first leg in Harare.

This is in spite of interim coach, Joey Antipas, putting together a side with some firepower, led by the ever-improving Prince Dube.

After missing out on the last edition in 2018, Zimbabwe will be happy to be in the pot this time.

CHAN is a tournament organised by CAF in which only players plying their trade in the domestic leagues of the respective nations are eligible for selection.

Joining Zimbabwe from the Southern region are Namibia and Zambia.

Zimbabwe’s best performance was a semi-final, which they lost to Libya in 2014.
