Zimbabwe leave it late to knock out Somalia, King Khama with the winner

They huffed and puffed for long, but Zimbabwe got the monkey off their back when they beat Somalia 3-1 at the National Sports Stadium in a 2022 Fifa World Cup Qualifier.

Khama Billiat

For the majority of the first, Zimbabwe dominated the match, but could not get the opener.

It felt like it was one of those days.

But deep into the second half, Marshall Munetsi connected beautifully with a ball in the six yard area with an overhead kick, a beautiful overhead kick.

Zimbabwe went for the kill but a terrible mixup at the back meant Somalia equalised and led on the tie.

Zimbabwe needed two goals to make it with seven regulation minutes left.

It took a minute from the Somalia goal and Knox Mutizwa scored a deflected free kick. Still Somalia led.

And cometh the hour, cometh the man. The man called in on Monday to come rescue Zimbabwe delivered.

In the second minute of injury time, Khama Billiat controlled a long pass, made space for his left. The world stopped. His ice cold veins charged.

The ball nestled into the bottom left corner.

Zimbabwe go through 3-2 on aggregate.
