Zimbabwe move up World Rugby Rankings

Brendan Dawson’s great start as Zimbabwe 15s coach has helped the Sables creep up the World Rugby Rankings.

They now sit 33rd up two sports, this after a 100% start to the Victoria Cup in which they beat Kenya, Zambia and Uganda in the first round of matches.

Dawson’s return comes after a dismal Africa Gold Cup campaign in 2018 under Peter De Villiers.

Under Dawson’s previous tenure which ended in 2015 the Sables jumped from 59th to a high of 24th and almost made it to the Rugby World Cup missing out by a bonus point

The All Blacks remain the number one team in the world followed by Wales.

Zimbabwe are among some of the biggest climbers with USA also two spots from 15th to 13th.
