Well they say it is so we have found a few ways you can work on the addiction.

  1. Hang out with friends, with phone in pocket: So we have now gotten to that space where friends hang out and everyone is on their phone. And we have seen it in family settings too. Or the one that really does one’s head in, people livestreaming a concert instead of watching it. Well be in the moment and enjoy life. Just do it. You know you can. Oh and while at it, meet new people.
  2. Turn off notifications: Notifications on your phone prompt an action. So you will want to turn them off so you do not have to respond.
  3. Find a hobby: And no, downloading candy crush to play on your phone is not a replacement hobby. Find stuff that has nothing to do with your phone. Join a book club. Join a band. Do other stuff.
  4. Limit or even go cold turkey: Facebook has that new digital wellness thing they have. You might ignore it. So try and tell yourself to have only a certain amount. Or if you know yourself as one of those who can’t handle a small dose because it turns into a big one, just do a social media time out. Stay off your faves for a month and recalibrate.
  5. Make it a treat: So when you have done well, close a couple of dope deals and stuff, treat yourself to it. Achieve offline stuff so you can then say, hey, you deserve it, tweet about monkeys and Instagram that weird tooth joke.

All the best kids.
