Kyle Jarvis returns to play for Zimbabwe

Fast bowler Kyle Jarvis has left his county side Lancashire to play international cricket for Zimbabwe.

The news was confirmed by Lancashire. His contract was due to expire at the end of next season but he was granted permission to leave early.

Jarvis said:

I have absolutely loved my time at Lancashire over the last four years. It’s a very special place and I have made some fantastic friends here. I am immensely proud to have played a part in the history of this great Club. I would like to thank everyone that for making me feel part of it.
It has been a really hard decision to make to return to Zimbabwe, but the opportunity to return home and play international cricket is something that I really want to do.

Jarvis left Zimbabwe cricket and joined Lancashire in 2013 after playing eight tests for his country.

In 2015, Jarvis played an important role in the Lancashire side that won promotion back to Division One of the Specsavers County Championship and helped the Club win its maiden NatWest T20 Blast title.

With Zimbabwe due to play more cricket and the World Cup qualifiers next year they will need more firepower.

Jarvis’s return follows that of former Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor who left Nottinghamshire, to boost the Chevrons.
