Social media could be reducing teen pregnancies

A new study says there is a link between reduction in teen pregnancies and social media usage.

The Office for National Statistics reports that teen pregnancy rates in England and Wales have nearly halved between 2007 and 2014, now standing at their lowest level since records began in 1969.

Scientists say there is a link between the fact that kids don’t really go out binge drinking and engaging in risky behaviour because they are always on social media.

Of course their not going out to play has other impacts on their general well-being but it is interesting to see this effect given social media has been cast as the devil in the pantomime that is pop culture.
