Iconic Harare venue Book Cafe has closed down until further notice.
Open Mic goers were greeted by a sign which said that the place had been closed until further notice.
From what we hear, the business, run by Tomas Brickhill who took over its operations from his late father Paul, is looking to move to a new location.
We will be informed of the new location for the venue which we hear will open later this year as time goes on.
This will come as a blow for many artists as this place was seen as a home for many of them.
This is the second such closure since the move from Fife Avenue shops. Since then the much-loved venue has battled with debt.
It will also bring a long pause to the only venue with 7 days of live entertainment per week in Zimbabwe.
Rather sad when you think of it given the dearth of live entertainment venues in Zimbabwe.
