Zimbabwe cricketers still playing in Afghan T20 league after bomb blast

Zimbabwe’s cricketers are still taking part in the Afghan T20 league in spite of the country’s association informing the country that they had been recalled following a bomb blast near a stadium in Kabul.

Zimbabwe Cricket had issued a statement saying that it had revoked no-objection certificates for its nine players in the competition.

However Ryan Burl, Sikandar Raza and Richard Ngarava are in action for their respective sides today (Saturday) while Tendai Chatara was involved on Friday.

When we contacted Zimbabwe Cricket communications and media manager Darlington Majonga he said he would get back to us with an official position on the matter. After four hours and repeated efforts, such a position had still not come.

We will give it you as soon as we get one.
