US Hip Hop Artists On Tour In Zimbabwe

Harare is set to experience premium Hip Hop by Next Level from the United States of America who will be hosting workshops and performances on rapping, Deejaying, beat making and dancing from the 19^thFebruary to the 1st of March 2015 around Harare.

The group comprises JC the Beat Maker, Juan the DJ, Fury the Dancer and Kane the Emcee who will all be involved in different elements of the exchange.

Workshops will be held in Glen Norah, Mbare and the Book Café culminating in performance collaborations between the Americans and the local participants at Mashoko Event featuring T shoc, Synik and Charity Hutete at The Book Café on Saturday the 28^th of February. On the 1^st of March Next Level will be in Glen Norah for a Peace in the Hood Concert Music Freedom day special with acts such as Fly Legendz, Ocean 4 and N.T.M.

Next Level Academy calls this “Levantine public diplomacy” in which the aim of the practice of is not to convince but to communicate, not to declare but to listen. Public diplomacy seeks to build a sphere in which diverse voices can be heard in spite of their various origins, distinct values and often contradictory interests

The Next Level tour is an initiative of the United States Embassy Public Affairs section as a cultural exchange drive. The program is facilitated by Magamba Network in partnership with Jibilika Dance Trust.

Quick side-note: We passed by the Book Cafe where sessions are taking place during the vibe was beautiful. There is a huge mirror there too… which means erm… no Bev stay away from there.
