Typhoon Haiyan: Google Appeals On Behalf Of Red Cross

Unless you have been living in a cave somewhere, you would know that Typhoon Haiyan swept across the central Philippines on Friday leaving a trail of massive destruction which some people describing the aftermath a scene after an atomic bomb blast.

Haiyan had sustained winds reported at over 145 miles per hour, and significantly stronger gusts. Haiyan is also the second category 5 typhoon to strike the Philippines this year.

The trail of disaster left by Haiyan has compelled Google to make an appeal on behalf of the Red Cross. Those of you who use the Google search engine will notice the Red Cross Insignia and this message below its search box:

Thanks for supporting us over the last 9 years. Today we ask you to support those affected by Typhoon Haiyan and donate to the Red Cross.

Red Cross volunteers throughout the region are reporting significant damage and a growing death toll the last count of dead people was in the region of 10 000. Those of you that can help please do.
