Fantan, Levelz, Dammer get bail

Chiilspot Records fellas Fantan, Levelz and promoter Dammer have been granted bail pending appeal of their sentence over flouting Covid-19 regulations.

Their bail is set at ZWL10,000.

The trio admitted to hosting a New Year’s Eve party in Mbare that attracted thousands. Before the current hard lockdown, Zimbabwe had a curfew and limits on the number of people who could meet in public. Parties and other social gatherings were banned.

For that they received 12 months sentences, six of which were suspended.

The party as well as the sentence both received widespread condemnation with some admitting the party should not have been held but saying the sentence was too hefty.
