The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has released a list of 788 of its foreign currency beneficiaries.
In a statement, the central bank said:
Pursuant to the publication of the list of the top 100 beneficiaries under the Foreign Exchange Auction System on 16 March 2021, the Bank has found it necessary and in the public interest to publish hereunder an additional list of entities that have benefitted from the foreign exchange auctions for the period 23 June 2020 to 28
February 2021.
The list below includes the top 100 released last week.
This comes as the RBZ governor John Mangudya, in speaking before the Parliament on Mondays warned shops and companies of duping their customers when using the exchange rate. Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor, Dr John Panonetsa Mangudya says majority of companies are getting foreign currency just above the 80 percent mark but go on to charge customers way above the 100 mark which is arbitrage.
The list is of those who have received a minimum of USD100,000 which accounts for 95% of the money allocated by the auction system.
