Sa – (Sir) and –Maita (You have done) equate to the noun Samaita. A Samaita – some would call the Museyamwa – is a nickname given to a person who embarks on a project or venture without any skill or knowledge of the business they are getting into. This then results in the project failing to meet the standards of a professional company.
Samaitarism is what I believe to be a real threat to the economy. It has come from the entrepreneurial wave that is being promoted by the Richard Bransons of the world with their “Screw It, Let’s Do It” school of thought. By diving into projects without a clue how to manage different aspects of a project; they always wonder why business is low. Instead of blaming their pure lack of professionalism, customer care, marketing and simply being ill mannered; they blame (yes you guessed it), THE ECONOMY.
Educational background
The average Samaita does not believe in furthering their knowledge in whatever venture they are into. I doubt it very much they have read about it in the ‘teach-yourself’ books in the bookstore. It is also rather doubtful they have read (the inside of the book) on any of their entrepreneurial role models.
Marketing Style
The Samaita way of marketing includes the obvious way of marketing, boast about your business success. Samaita knows nothing about looking for more business or completing a sale. Instead they tell the customer how much their business is booming; how expensive their services are; how going to their church means they are definitely going to prosper; and how much they are not desperate for the customer to buy.
The lesson here is really that knowledge is power. People should get an education and an understanding of whatever industry you are getting into. Get business management right and have a credible business plan. Put that ego away, you are fooling no one with your pompous attitude. Do not dive into the deep-end of business without an oxygen tank in case you start to drown.
Just as a disclaimer, Samaita and Museyamwa are also mutupo and the have no reference in anyway to people who are Museyamwa or Samaita.
