Govt Planning To Scrap Electricity Bills – Mujuru

Vice President Joice Mujuru has said that the government plans to follow up the directive to scrap all local municipal bills by getting rid of electricity bills.

Mujuru was reported by state media as saying that bills accrued from hyper-inflation days had become a burden to the people.

A few days before the election won by Zanu-Pf and its president Robert Mugabe, the government issued a dicrective that wiped away all outstanding municipal debts from February 2009 to 30 June 2013.

Now there goes the electricity bill as well. Mind you, quite a few people are on prepaid systems now.

Would be interesting to see how this will be going forward.
