Oh it got real on Twitter on Monday after MDC-T national spokesperson Obert Gutu referred to Zanu-pf members as ‘baboons’.
It all started after Gutu commented on an article about the fall of the ruling party which resulted in a little bit of a back and forth between him and the Tsholotsho North legislator.
Then Gutu said:
@nmak @ProfJNMoyo You're probably right! It's a 'solidarity' fueled by thievery!
Under a common threat,baboons are known to unite…lol

And then of course Prof Moyo was not impressed and demanded an apology
@GutuObert below is what you said in your own words. It's very offensive. Plz withdraw & apologise! https://t.co/AUJlcmxrDu

Gutu did eventually apologise
@ProfJNMoyo @nmak I withdraw use of the word 'baboons'.Apologies to anyone who might have been offended.
Case closed.

Lots of sensitivities around words on social media at the moment and quite rightly the use of the word baboon was inappropriate, in effect poor form.
We hope with the apology came the end of the whole matter. We kinda think it has.
