Econet revising its SMS and data tariffs effective 5 May

It is that time again.

The message pings through.

Dear Customer. Please take note, bundle prices for Data & SMS will be reviewed effective 5 May 2020. Dial *143# to buy Data or *140# to buy SMS Bundles.

For its suppliers who were forced to slash their charges by 20% this will leave a bad taste in the mouth because while it says times are hard, do this, it does the opposite.

For the end user, it is a kick in the proverbials because with depressed incomes communication is soon to become a luxury.
