Zimbabwean Mvumvure Qualifies World Athletics Championships 100m Semis

Zimbabwe’s Gabriel Mvumvure is through to the 100m semi-finals of the ongoing IAAF World Athletics Championships in Moscow, Russia.

The US-based sprinter came third in his heat today. Kemar Bailey-Cole took the it in 10.02 ahead of Christophe Lemaitre, in 10.12, and  Mvumvure in 10.28. The rest will have to rely on being one of the three fastest losers across the seven heats. Olympic champion Usain Bolt jogged his way to 10.07 seconds in his heat.

Marathon runner Cephas Pasipamire is the only other Zimbabwean at the championships.
