Zimbabwe Women have a packed itinerary as they step up their preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup Global Qualifier 2024.

3-mob.com caught up with Zimbabwe Women interim coach Walter Chawaguta who told us what to expect.

“We’re off to India on the 19th [of February],” Chawaguta told us. “We’re going to play some games there. And I think Uganda is going to be also there, so we may play two-three games against them.

“And then probably Mumbai Under-19s, which is a very strong side, and of course problem Omtex.”

The Lady Chevrons are then scheduled then move over to the African Games for the inaugural entry of cricket which take place in Ghana, from the 5th to the 13th or March 2024.

They then host Papua New Guinea (PNG) for what is expected to be three one-dayers and three T20Is.

After that, they will be off to the Qualifier in April.

On who will be touring, it is the squad which finished the Ireland series, plus opening batter Sharne Mayers for India tour.

Modester Mupachikwa and vice captain Josephine Nkomo should be available for the African Games in Ghana.

Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano is expected to be available for the PNG series.

Ashley Ndiraya is out and is a major doubt for the Qualifier, after her operation following an injury during the first T20I against Ireland Women.
