Zimbabwe Women were too strong for an improved USA Women side as they beat them by six wickets in the second of five ODIs at Harare Sports Club on Sunday.

Having won the toss, Zimbabwe chose to field first.

USA Women’s innings was anchored by their captain, Sindhu Sriharsha, who scored a gritty 69 off 76 balls, supported by Disha Dhingra’s solid 39 at the top of the order. Late contributions came from Aditiba Chudasama (41 off 50) and Tara Norris (28 off 23), but regular wickets stunted their progress. The USA were bowled out for 248 in 49.4 overs.

Zimbabwe’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Nomvelo Sibanda (3-41) and Josephine Nkomo (2-36) leading the attack. Audrey Mazvishaya and Christabel Chatonzwa also claimed a wicket each, while Zimbabwe’s fielding was sharp, with two run-outs adding to the USA’s woes.

Zimbabwe’s chase was anchored by opener Modester Mupachikwa, who played a patient knock of 77 off 113 balls, striking 9 boundaries. Her partnerships with Chipo Mugeri Tiripano (38) and Beloved Biza (46) kept the innings steady. Despite losing wickets at crucial moments, the hosts kept their cool.

Beloved Biza’s 46 off 61 balls proved pivotal, and a late flourish from Ashley Ndiraya (28*) and captain Josephine Nkomo (20*) saw Zimbabwe over the line with six wickets in hand.
