Zimbabwe Under-19s host Namibia for youth ODI series

Zimbabwe’s Under-19 side will host its Namibian counterparts for five youth one-day international matches scheduled for Harare next week.

The series is set to start with the first game on Monday, the 24th of April, with the second match pencilled in for the following day. Both matches will be played at Harare Sports Club, which will also host the third match on Thursday, the 27th.

Action will move to Takashinga Sports Club when the two sides clash in the fourth youth ODI on Saturday, the 29th of April, before the fifth and final match of the series is played at Harare Sports Club on Sunday, the 30th.

The Namibia Under-19s are expected to arrive in Harare this Saturday.

The Zimbabwe Under-19s – whose shirts for the 2017/18 season are proudly sponsored by Fawcett Security, also Zimbabwe Cricket’s security partner – are in camp preparing for the 50-over series.

The age group team is under the tutelage of Stephen Mangongo as it prepares for the next Under 19 World Cup. Zimbabwe qualify automatically for the next tournament to be held in 2018 in New Zealand. Naimbia qualify directly by virtue of being the highest placed associate nation in 2016 edition.
